Module 2: Writing Copy That Speaks to Your Ideal Client

Copy is something we have to plan well if we’re going to make a solid connection with our prospective clients once they land on our websites. But a lot of times, we are so concerned about providing as much information as possible that we actually forget a very important point. We need to be talking to our clients and showing how we can help solve their problems with the services we provide. Keep in mind what you'll hear me say time and again: “It's not about you. It's about them.”

In this module, we are going to dive into how to write web copy that resonates with your clients. You'll need to keep your work from Module 1 handy as you go through this lesson since a lot of what you write will be informed by the Ideal Client Profile(s) you created.

Download the workbook for Module 2 below, watch the video, and check in with the Course Community this week. The prompt for the Course Community Slack channel is below, but I suggest going through the workbook content first.

Don't worry if it ends up taking you more than a week to write your web copy. Good copy = sales. So, take the time you need to get it right! Just catch up with the next module as soon as you can. And as always, if you have any questions about this module or anything else related to the course, please contact me. I'll be happy to respond to your message within 24 hours on weekdays.

Module 2 Workbook

In this module, we'll use what you know about your ideal clients to create web copy that speaks to them. Copy that shows them you're their ideal solution to a problem they're having. Copy that positions you as a long-term partner.

Let's get started, shall we?

Course Community

The topic for this week's Community chat is to answer the questions:

What is one challenge your ideal client faces? How are you going to portray that you are their solution via your Home page copy?

If you haven’t yet, please join our course Slack group. This is a great place to ask questions, share your progress, offer feedback and meet others in the course. I'll also be sharing motivation and resources there a couple of times a week, so make sure you join. It's free to set up a Slack account. Simply use the invitation I sent to your inbox or click one of the links here!
